Tiny highlight: Most—though not all—of the Pokélids in Okinawa feature Growlithe as a recurring Pokémon, who is likely inspired by the shisa, the lion-dog guardian deity of Okinawa.

This Pokélid is located in Motobu. We had the coordinates saved on Google Maps, so it was easy to find while visiting Churaumi Aquarium—just a short walk from the entrance. It was also conveniently close to our hotel in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island, about an hour’s drive from Naha Airport.
There are a lot more scattered across the islands of Okinawa, so it’s going to be a lot trickier trying to get the rest. Updates on this page might take a while.
